Seong-Jin Cho

The Wanderer (CD)

Seong-Jin Cho won the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition in 2015, propelling the pianist to pop-star status in his native South Korea. He continuously inspires an increasingly international audience.

After the success of his albums of works by Debussy and Mozart, the wanderer between the cultures and continents now explores Schubert, Liszt and Berg. The Wanderer Fantasy is one of Schubert's most refined piano pieces, showing Seong-Jin at full scale. Schubert is Seong-Jin's most admired composer.

The Liszt Sonata is known to be very demanding and there are many extremely strong reference recordings of it playing at an outstanding level. This recording catapults Seong-Jin to at least the same level!
